Folklore MCP

Query public gene-disease evidence, interpret supported germline variants and search scientific literature from your AI client. No account or API key is required.

Connect your client

Add the endpoint to your AI client as a remote MCP server using Streamable HTTP.

Tools

ToolPurpose
search_variant_evidenceResolve and interpret one supported germline variant
search_variant_literatureFind variant-related scientific literature
get_publication_detailsRead publication details
search_literature_corpusSearch articles using text and known identifiers
get_gene_disease_associationsFind disease associations for a gene
search_disease_genesFind genes associated with a disease

Supported variant queries include GRCh38 coordinates, selected HGVS forms, SPDI and rsID for nuclear germline SNVs and simple indels smaller than 50 base pairs. For ambiguous expressions, review the returned candidates and verify the intended allele.

Example questions

Which genes have curated evidence for Marfan syndrome?

Which diseases are associated with FBN1?

Classify ENST00000226413.5:c.317A>G under ACMG/AMP
and summarize its supporting evidence.

Read the evidence

Keep the resolved allele, classification, criterion evidence, source citations and limitations together. Gene-disease validity and variant classification are separate assessments.

Use public gene, disease and single-variant queries. Do not submit patient records or private case details.
